CSSTL Board Meeting
Richie McDowell, Denver CO, May 15, 2010

The Board for CSSTL met this afternoon, May 15, 2010.

Present were Bert, Richie, Vince, Randy and Bob.  Jeff was absent.

The meeting was held due to the recent resignation of our Commissioner, Charlie Davis.

The league will go on as usual!!!  If you have any questions, please contact anyone of the Board members.  Listed below are the items the Board agreed upon:

 * Schedule: There will be no changes.  We will play June 19th @ Skyview in Colorado Springs.  We are very cognizant of the safety issue with the fields.  However, we do not have any other fields to where we can relocate at this late notice.  Note...since we have had problems the last 2 years,  here is your chance for somebody who lives in Co. Sp. to find a suitable replacement for next year  so that you keep some games down south...don't wait!  Also, the rainout date of June 26th in Westminster is now an official play date!  We have no more rain outs.  If we have to cancel any Saturday going forward, it will not be rescheduled.  We must keep the two dates of August 21st  & 28th for the End of Season tourney.

 * Seedings: after May 22nd games in Loveland, teams will be reseeded.

 * Scores: please send results of Saturday's games to Vince by Monday vince.gaydos@hp.com so they can get posted on the league's website.

 * Rosters: please send any changes/additions to rosters to Vince by Friday @ Noon.

 * Website: Randy's name and contact info will be shown on the league's website instead of Charlie.

 * Rain outs: Host team will contact Randy, who will contact Board members, who will contact

Coaches.  RANDY--GET PHONE # TO WEBMASTER SO IT CAN BE POSTED.

Bob: Master Collision; Pitchers; Scrap Iron Phiten.

   Bert: Denver Reds; Parker.

Vince: Old School Tavern; Fabulous 50's; Two Dogs Tavern.

   Richie: Knight Fishing; Vipers.

   Randy: Scrap Iron Gray; Loveland.

   Jeff: Renegades; Scrap Iron Diamonds.

* Host teams (ALAN-please show on sheet when you do the schedule after reseeding):

May 22nd: Denver Reds @ Loveland.

June 12th: Master Collision @ Westminster.

June 19th: Two Dogs Tavern @ Colorado Springs.

June 26th: Scarp Iron Phiten @ Westminster.

    July 24th: Pitchers & Schaefer(Hampden & Kipling).

July 31st: Scarp Iron Diamonds @ Schaefer.

August 7th: Scarp Iron Gray @ Westminster.

    August 21st: Vipers @ Kennedy.

August 28th: Vipers @ Kennedy (if necessary).

 * Pitcher Protection: this league has never had a pitcher protection rule. We encourage safety and  for a pitcher, this would include head gear, shin pads and a chest protector, but as with every ball player, you play at your own risk, so protect yourself accordingly.

 * Webmaster: if possible, put this on our website, along with all other noted corrections.  Thanks Richard

CSSTL Annual Meeting January 23, 2010
By Richie McDowell, Denver, CO,  January 23, 2010

Commissioner: nominated and elected Charlie Davis.

Board of Directors: nominated and elected Bert Hertzke, Vince Gaydos, Randy Pearson, Richie McDowell, Bob Spada and Jeff Schumaker.

Officers: nominated and elected Bert Hertzke as Treasurer and Richie McDowell as Secretary.

Website: approved and retained Richard Richardson as Webmaster; Charlie Davis will pursue advertising revenue from sponsors.

Teams: appears we will still have 14 teams...Scrap Iron 50's have dropped out, but Pitchers will spilt up to also include Diamonds, while Tweet will become Renegades.  We will still maintain  3 Divisions(upper does not play lower; crossover run rule on interdivision); seedings are still to be determined by Board and will be redone at mid-season.

Softball fields and dates: Kennedy is not an option this year; much discussion and Board was given  approval to do the best they can given circumstances(Commissioner to work on new policy so that we don't run into same problems next year).  Update to Annual Meeting is that Board is trying to establish the following, which includes 3 rain out dates as we've always had...3 days @ Schaefer(Kipling & Hampden); 2 days @ Loveland; 1 day @ Evans; 4 days @ Westminster; 3 days @ Colorado Springs.  Proposed Saturday's we'll play on are as follows: April 17; April 24;  May 1; May 8; May 22; June 12; June 19; June 26; July 24; July 31; August 7; August 21;   August 28.

Budget: still to be determined since we don't know what fields we'll be playing on and their respective costs; tentatively plan on $750 as team entry fee(same as last year); unless league brings in more  revenue, we will have no prizes; bank balance @ $2,665.83(need to prepay for 3 rain outs).

Rules: only change is time frame on games...last regular inning is @ 60 minutes, with following inning being "open", so coaches need to have watches.  CSSTL uses SSUSA rules, unless otherwise noted.  They are always posted on the website.  We had much discussion on other  rules, including coaches responsibility as umpires, batter's count, teams short of players, home runs, pitching, home team, strike mat, maximum 5 Major/Major Plus players under age 60 and senior ladies...but they all remain the same.
